Tuesday March 3, 2009 (day three)

HOLY HECK!! SUNSHINE!! SWEET!!

It's been overly dark and dreary in many ways lately, so it was VERY nice today to get some lovely sunshine....even if actual heat was no where to be found with it. :D

I drove home from work today with windows down and sunroof open (as you can tell from the pic) and enjoyed every slightly cold second of it!

I'm off to the grocery store to pick up supplies for dinner and then home for more Artfest working and work working. :P

Aaaaaand....40 minutes later! :P I came out of the grocery store to this. Dark clouds rolling in, the smell of rain in the air. Grrrr.
I'm not sure why, but I am especially tired of cold, rainy weather this year. Just get to the sun already!
At least this makes it easier to go home and work. I don't have an amazing day to tempt me away from my duties. *sniff*

Monday March 2, 2009 (day two)

Today was all about focusing on Artfest. Well, I did go to work, but people are whiny babies there. Wee little selfish babies, so let's think about something else, yes? :)

In order to wash the stench of workplace stupidity off my person, I came home and worked on the art for my ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) for Artfest. The theme this year is Sea Creatures, a lovely theme if I do say so myself! :D

I've been into pulp cover and pinup art lately, so I thought I'd combine the two and make a sea creature pulp pinup cover! :D This little drawing to the left here is the fruit of that labour, an Octowoman with a magical necklace called The eye of Neptune that will somehow bring death and devastation to the human race. I'm not sure how, but that doesn't matter as I'm only doing a cover...I don't have to write the book! :D

Now, ATC's are the size of baseball cards, 2.5" x 3.5", so I'll scan this big painting (upon painting completion) into my computer and add the titling and then print out 35 of them, tart up the backs somehow (still working on that design), label them with my info and send them off to be put into the Artfest ATC Book.

Easy peasy! Uh-huh. No worries, I'll just whip these suckers out in no time! ACK! :D

KIA ORA ONE AND ALL!!! (intro)

Welcome to my 365 day project!

I'm a few days late as my goal was to start this on March 1st! The first pictures were taken on March 1st...I just haven't had the time to upload and write! Excuses, excuses! :D
I started this 365 Day thing on January 1st, 2009 over on Flickr, but didn't fair very well as the longer it went on...the more bored I got! Taking a picture of me. Just me. By me. Every day. Yawn! I kept looking at my siblings 365 Blogs and thinking "now THAT'S what I really want to do!", more of a picture and journal thing than just "hey, here's a pic!"
So, welcome one and all (all three of you so far) to my 365 Days of Mish Blog!

TA-DAH!!

My goal is to take a daily picture, either of me or something that represents my day, post it here and write about it.
Contrary to my lack of success over on Flickr, I am quite excited by this project! Now, on to official post Numero Uno!!!

*kia ora is Maori (the indigenous people of New Zealand) for Hello! See, you learned something new already! The interwebs are kewl! :)

Sunday March 1st, 2009 (day one)

Today I spent going through my boxes in the basement. The ones that have been sitting there, mocking me, for 3 years now.

Hurriedly packed boxes, each hastily filled with mostly non-related items in order to rescue them from the repeated water damage of my obsessively flooding (and now FORMER) bedroom!

It's amazing what you find three years later. Items you thought you HAD lost, items you WISH you had lost and items you don't even remember owning!

Little sentimental treasures like the gold pipe cleaner tiara I am wearing in this picture. This tiara is from my comedy days, from a stage show I don't remember the name of right now, from a sketch I call "The Pretty Princess Sketch." It had something to do with lobotomies. All I really remember is at the end of said sketch I turn back to the audience, with pipe cleaner tiara (complete with bloody bandage) perched atop my head and say "AH'M A PRITEE PRINTHCESS!"

Ahhhh, good times, good times.

After much box sorting and treasure finding (you can see my gargoyle wall sconce in the corner of the pic above! :D) I wrapped up the day with some good ole' Red Dwarf watchin'!

We have learned how to stream our Netflix queue to our downstairs television through Scott's XBox 360, so when not killing Zombies in Left 4 Dead or trekking through the Wastelands of Fallout 3, we're enjoying copious amounts of our favourite British television programme's! Sometimes, we even throw in an American one just for fun, The Rockford Files currently holds that distinction. :D

I've missed the crew of the Jupiter Mining Ship Red Dwarf; Lister, Rimmer, Kryten, The Cat and, of course, Holly. It's been quite lovely spending my evenings with them. :)

Watch out Lindsay Lohan....my wild life is catching up with yours! :D
